THE NEW SH WIRE ROPE HOIST

Utilizing the space above work areas for transporting loads has become increasingly important. CANSTAHL, with its great wealth of experience, aims to optimise the benefits for customers of using monorail trolleys and cranes. All our efforts in sales, product development and manufacture are directed at improvements in delivery times, reliability of delivery dates, quality, safety at work, insusceptibility to human error, service life and simple fault elimination. On the basis of this philosophy, CANSTAHL is introducing the new wire rope hoist type SH to supersede the AS wire rope hoist which is still successful after 20 years of reliable service.

The new wire rope hoist type SH is the logical reply to the demands of new building and safety regulations. The main focus of development was overload protection and registration of the operating time of the hoist. Particular emphasis was laid on meeting more rigorous customer requirements with regard to movement of goods and freedom from maintenance.

Modern manufacturing technology and materials management geared to this new development guarantee short delivery times and reliable delivery dates.

Modular Construction

The SH wire rope hoist has a modular structure. Both standard and customized designs for particular requirements are possible on the basis of series components. The individual components are optimally matched.

Technical Features
  1. HOIST MOTOR
    3 phase A.C. squirrel-cage induction motor, 2/12 poles, with cylindrical rotor and low flywheel mass. Classified in group 4 m to FEM 9.682. Reliable starting even at undervoltage and with high hoisting load. Designed for heavy duty, 60% DC and 360 starts/hour.
    High protection class IP65 and temperature control with thermistor temperature sensors as standards.

  2. LONG LIFE BRAKE
    The twin-disc magnetic brake is encapsulated and has asbestos-free brake linings. No replacement of the brake disc is necessary during the whole service life of the hoist in normal operation.
    A wear monitoring facility is available on request. Standard protection class IP 66.

  3. GEAR
    Maintenance-free gear in the most modern technology: completely enclosed monoblock housing with highest accuracy and stability, gearing with high degree of flank hardness optimized after hardening by honing (high service life, low noise). Lifetime oil lubrication, Minimum classification in group 2m to FEN9.511.

  4. ROPE DRIVE AND DRUM
    Designed for high safety and long service life. Classification in 2m 9SH 4016-..: 1Am) to FEM 9.661, drum and return sheaves in 3m. Highly flexible special bright wire rope or special galvanised rope, 8-strand, on the basis of DIN 3063 and DIN 3067,. Safety factor >= 5.0. Fine machining of the drum grooves minimises wear on the rope, the return sheaves are resistant to wear. Robust bottom hook block with low headroom. Extremely wear-resistant rope guide in spheroidal graphite cast iron, high resistance to diagonal pull; no temperature limitations.

  5. CONTROLS
    Conceptionally innovative, hoist-specific design. The gear-type limit switch and monitoring electronics are integrated into the controls themselves. High degree of safety due to weld resistant main contactor; long service life of power contactors. Travel drive and control pendant with plug-and-socket connections.
    The panel box is of fibreglass reinforced moulded synthetic resin material. Protection class IP 55. The user-friendly STAHL control pendant is activated in tried-and-tested manner by rockers.

    Contactor control
    The contactor control (110 Volts) is installed in the hoist panel box. The switchgear includes the contactors for hoisting and travel motions, the evaluation module for the standard overloads device, an operating hours counter and the release device for the thermistors of the device for the thermistors of the hoist motor temperature control.

    The contactor control is available in two versions:
    1. as switchgear WITHOUT crane switch contactor, transformer and control pendant.
    2. as switchgear WITH crane switch contactor, transformer and control pendant SWH on control cable.
      Standard motor voltage: 575 V or 460 V
      Other supply voltages and control voltages on request.
      Gear-type limit switch, hoist
      Emergency limiting (standard version)
      In an emergency a gear-type limit switch disconnects the hoist in highest and lowest hook position. If the wire rope hoist is supplied with controls, the limit switch gas 2 contacts. For controls to be supplied by the customer, the gear-type limit switch is supplied with 4 contacts. Alternatively in the case of wire rope hoist SH 20.., the limit switch can be activated by the rope guide. -

  6. SAFETY DEVICES
    The gear-type limit switch for highest and lowest hook position, temperature control of the motors and an overload device are standard safety devices. Various models of overload devices are used.

  7. TROLLEYS
    Welded structures with a high degree of accuracy and rigidity. The underslung trolley is infinitely adjustable to the width of the beam and can be set easily during installation. Standard flange width 300 mm.

  8. TRAVEL DRIVE
    The basic features of the hoist gear are displayed by the travel gear also. The 2/8-pole 3-phase A.C. squirrel-cage induction motor has a cylindrical rotor and an additional flywheel mass for smooth, low-vibration acceleration and braking.
    The travel motors are classified in 4 m to FEM 9.681. Standard protection class IP 55, IP 66 on request.



Wire Rope Hoists “double-grooved”
Applications: as stationary hoist or towing equipment or mounted on trolley or crabs. The rope drum is single-grooved for 2/1, 4/1 reeving.
If lateral displacement of the hook during hoisting is not desired, the double-grooved version is to be recommended, - 13-14.

Monorail Trolleys

    “Short headroom”
    Applications: on monorail runways and single girder cranes. Thus great heights of lift can be achieved even in low-ceiling rooms.
    Supplied with counterweight.

    “Standard headroom”
    Applications: on monorail runways and single girder cranes. This particularly inexpensive trolley is only available for the SH2.. up to 1000 kg lifting capacity.

All trolleys have two travel speeds 5/20 m/min (50Hz) or 6.3/25 m/min (60 Hz) as standard, other speeds are possible on request. Special designs for curved runways on request.

Double Rail Crabs
Applications: on double girder cranes. The extremely compact construction with minimal hook approach and headroom dimensions enable the space available to be exploited to the full.
Low-maintenance direct drive, with 2 speeds 5/20 m/min (50 Hz) or 6.3/25 m/min (60 Hz) as standard, other speeds are possible on request.

Paint systems
Paint systems type A20/2, alkyd resin base
Top coat: yellow-green RAL 6018/anthracite RAL 7021.
Total dry film thickness: 60µm.

Other top coats and other films thicknesses on request.

Pre-treatment: Cast and rolled sections blasted to DIN 55928, degree of rust removal SA 2. Machined outer faces, aluminum and deep-drawn parts degreased. Steel components protected by a thin layer of iron phosphate.
Priming coat: Two-component epoxy primer.
